Tono Cooling Fireworks Festival
遠野納涼花火まつり
A big highlight event for Tono’s short summer. On the last day of the “Obon”, the Japanese custom for honoring the spirits of one’s ancestos, about 5,000 fireworks are launched in the night sky. At this time, fireworks festivals are held in various parts of Iwate Prefecture. But here in Tono, you can enjoy fireworks with especially powerful sound effects unique to the city.
