Japan's largest wooden Buddhist sculpture

Weighing 25 tons, with a height of 17m and a face measuring 2.4m, the gold-leafed Fukutoku Kannon enshrined at this temple is the largest wooden statue in the country. The statue was finally completed in 1963 after nearly 12 years. The temple attracts many visitors throughout the year.
